Part of the trip was to go up the mountain in these cable cars (which I admit I really didn't like the look of but....)and then walk down later on after seeing the Eagles and the view.. Anyway, they've changed the rules and now under 13's can't use the cable cars ( :-))..) so they walked up and then down the mountain instead..no wonder he slept quite well at night!

He really liked it though - I've never been to Germany so might pop across at some point.

http://www.rheinreise.de/Boppard.htmlCarolehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11470170206537639792noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2044339197163784788.post-14476535440712741202011-06-19T00:23:37.240+01:002011-06-19T00:23:37.240+01:00Quick question aunty,

Maybe it's my lack of dance moves. Regardless, I'm with Dj in that respect...boring!

I'm so glad he had fun, Germany sounds absolutely awesome. Even glader that the medication you gave him worked a treat. I don't think it would have been as fun, had he been puking throughout his journey.

And even glader-er (there's no way that's an official word but I've decided to make it one as of today) that you received a date for your scan so quickly! Give the nurse a hug from me, good on her!

Let us know what the scan says asap. And give Dj a big hug for me. We've tried everything in the past ...Hi Fiona,

We've tried everything in the past ...What we've found that works 100% is Phenergan tablets (25mg)
One the night before travel and another one the morning of travel.

Phenergan are usually given for allergies but they also work on travel sickness *in some people*

One point though is that if you're going to give them to J before Uni visits, make sure you try them out in advance in-case they cause drowsiness. They DON'T make Dj sleep at all - but I know some people are affected and feel very sleepy and obviously you don't want him nodding off during a Uni visit.

So experiment before he actually needs to visit, just in-case.

I get all my results, bloods and scan the same time. Colorectal nurse will email me when all are ready - around 10 days after the scan she said - so I'm thinking I'll know more by the end of this month.Carolehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11470170206537639792noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2044339197163784788.post-6927384013219002182011-06-18T09:07:58.102+01:002011-06-18T09:07:58.102+01:00Really good news about the scan coming through so ...Really good news about the scan coming through so quick. Remember to ask 'when do I get the results' before you leave, and then you know if its days or weeks.
Have the bloods been taken? I get my LFTS and FBCs back in 5 working days, and the GP staff print them out for me. The CEA would take longer?
Can I ask what travel meds have worked for DJ? J gets travel sick on a coach, or in the back seat of a car. Seems to be ok on a train or plane. I've used homeopathic up to now which seem to work. But he has lots of short(ish) distance travel coming up with visits to University open days, including the school taking them to one by coach which will take 1 1/2 hours.Fionanoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2044339197163784788.post-56203816733856870412011-06-18T07:43:12.553+01:002011-06-18T07:43:12.553+01:00Great to hear that your appointment has come throu...Great to hear that your appointment has come through so quickly!
And I bet that you are glad that DJ is back safe and sound.
The travel sickness meds that you gave to him seem to have done the trip,,,,not a lot worse than having to travel and feeling sick.
