I'm Carole, living in London, happily married and mum to two amazing boys.I was diagnosed with Stage 3 Rectal Cancer in April 2010. Surgery took place in November 2010 and I now have a permanent colostomy...Spinal mets were then diagnosed in October 2011...In January 2012 I was told of further spread to the hip area (multiple lesions)..My life expectancy is now 6-9 months. Walk alongside me on the last part of my experience with this..

Big Thanks.....

Big thanks to James for updating my blog for me whilst I was away - grand job done, just as expected xxxx

Unable to say more at the moment, because simply way too tired - suffice to say, I'm home, slowly recovering and more info forthcoming when I get some strength back from somewhere.

    Fab to hear you are home. Now you will be able to properly rest. It's way to noisy on a hospital ward. You must rest, sleep, rest, doze, rest, snooze and more rest.

    Great to see you home again, with the surgery behind you. You've still got an uphill struggle, but if anyone can do it you can.

    Listen to your body and rest as much as possible just now.

    Thinking of you and hoping and praying that it won't be too long before you are on a more even keel.

    OMG!!!! WELCOME HOME!!!! (now in your mind conjure up the Vodafone commercial where the 'welcome home' song is being sung by all those people to all those other people...but cancel out 'all those other people' and put yourself in that position)

    I'm so glad you are home with the family, I'm sure they will provide the strength and encouragement for you to keep on healing.

    So so glad to finally read a post from you (James did a wonderful job keeping us up to date, can't thank him enough - but seeing the words you typed just lets me breath a little sigh of relief)

    There's nothing like your own bed. As the others have said, listen to your body (and your family) and do nothing.
