I'm Carole, living in London, happily married and mum to two amazing boys.I was diagnosed with Stage 3 Rectal Cancer in April 2010. Surgery took place in November 2010 and I now have a permanent colostomy...Spinal mets were then diagnosed in October 2011...In January 2012 I was told of further spread to the hip area (multiple lesions)..My life expectancy is now 6-9 months. Walk alongside me on the last part of my experience with this..

Very quick update.....

I have been in hospital since 1st Feb and was finally allowed home yesterday, 17th Feb....Update to follow but will have to be once I have found some energy from somewhere.

For now it's enough to say that the NHS have taken very great care of me over the past two and a half weeks, and right now I'm back at home being taken care of by my lovely Rab.

Thanks for all the messages, I'll get around to responding at some point.

    Great to hear from you Carole, I've been watching your blog for updates, and even emailed Tony S when I got a bit worried!! Hope that was ok??

    Very dear Carole,

    I am so very sorry to read your post. I have not been on here for a while due to my mother's hospitalization. You are one of those great people out there who gave me great support and morale. I always kept you on my mind and think of you often. You are so strong and wonderful, I believe you will beat the time which doctors gave you. You will have more years with your family.
